AWARD WINNING STREET FOOD BUSINESS HUMPIT OPENS IN YORK

After working on the Leeds University branch designing, building and fitting an intricate internal light box assembly with the request of a patina effect (rusting process), using copper pipes to link them all together, creating a ‘steampunk’ esque style. After doing such a splendid job on this the Humpit team requested our services to create their new flagship shop front, fascia, and internal media graphics for their new flagship store opening in York. The Mindlabs Sign fitters were raring to get going and immediately got to work creating and fitting the blackout window graphics so the internals could be worked on without the inquisitive minds of the good folk of York peering in. When the project was gathering pace in time for it‘s opening of the 13th February it was time for the custom printed wallpaper, another patina/steampunk light box assembly, external swing sign and new fascia signage to be installed.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT HUMPIT

Much loved by meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike (the largest of all the vegan food chains), Humpit’s cheeky branding, unique food offering, and friendly staff have seen them grow from strength to strength. Beginning their journey at Leeds Corn Exchange, then opening in Sheffield, Leeds University, and now York. Founded by Jonathan Phillips and his father Simon in 2014 their first Leeds store quickly boomed, taking the number one spot on Trip Advisor for a year and a half, awarded ‘Best Street Food Start-Up’ at Richard Branson’s Virgin Foodpreneur Awards, recommended by the Sunday Times and gaining numerous shining reviews from the Yorkshire vegan and vegetarian community.

RIGHT FROM THE START

Before any work could begin on the listed building Humpit had chosen as their flagship restaurant they required 2D plans to map out every aspect of Humpit. Using this department of The Mindlabs helped interior designers, plumbers, joiners and builders get vital information keeping call out costs to a minimum and even allowed Humpit to work out the number of covers the building was capable of. Using our own plans it made the fitting of the signage smooth, efficient and on time! We’re extremely pleased to help introduce Humpit to York and look forward to working with the Humpit team on future ventures.
