Meet Jon: The Fly-Fishing, Motorcycling Design Maestro
Jon’s love for graphic design is only rivaled by his obsession with fly fishing. Seriously, this man could design a logo, whip up some branding, and tie a perfect fishing fly, all while revving up his motorcycle for a weekend camping trip.
Graduating from Doncaster University with a degree in Advertising, Jon’s creative journey has been as varied as his hobbies. From factory floors and window cleaning to working at Sainsbury’s and designing sportswear, Jon’s done it all. But in 2004, his real adventure began when he co-created MindLabs Media. Since then, he’s never looked back (except maybe to check his fly-fishing gear).
Whether it’s branding, typography, packaging design, illustration, or animation, Jon brings his passion and precision to every project—just like he does when he’s out by the river, patiently waiting for that perfect catch.
When he's not making designs or flies, you might find Jon “borrowing” the boss lady’s hairdryer—because even fly-fishing experts need their hair game on point!

CHRIS HUGHES
CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Meet Chris: The Design Dynamo with a Taste for Adventure
Chris is the kind of creative who can whip up a killer brand identity with the same ease as he tackles life’s quirkiest challenges. Whether he’s selecting the perfect font or experimenting with a new recipe, Chris brings his signature flair and a dash of fun to everything he does.
Armed with a degree in Graphic Design from Southampton University, Chris' career journey reads more like an adventure novel than a résumé. From roofing to window cleaning, to sous chef duties, he's tried his hand at just about everything. Somehow, along the way, he also mastered the art of signage solutions and packaging design—because why not?
In 2004, Chris co-founded Mindlabs Media and has been steering the ship ever since (with only the occasional look over his shoulder to make sure his latest concoction isn’t burning). Today, his design philosophy mixes creativity with precision, a love of typography, and a sprinkle of fun—making every project a masterpiece in the making.
When he’s not crafting design magic, you might catch Chris out walking the dogs, cheeky banter at the pub, or plotting his next big creative venture. Oh, and if you ever need a dinner recommendation, Chris has you covered.
HARVEY WIMPENNY
LEAD DEVELOPER
Meet Harvey: Our Cyber-Savvy Lead Developer
Harvey’s journey to becoming a tech powerhouse started at Sheffield Hallam University, where he dove deep into Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking. His dissertation? Just a casual exploration of quantum entanglement for secure information transmission—no big deal, right?
From humble beginnings as a kitchen porter, Harvey climbed his way up the tech ladder, going from scrubbing dishes to scrubbing security breaches as our Cyber Security Head and Lead Developer. These days, he’s more likely to be found cracking code than cracking eggs.
What gets him up in the morning? Not inspiration, but the barrage of WhatsApp notifications. Outside of work, you’ll probably find him enjoying a cold German beer and pondering the mysteries of the quantum world. And let’s not forget his deep love for Chinese food—it fuels his late-night coding sessions.
Harvey’s got your back, whether it's fighting off hackers or sharing his thoughts on the perfect lager.

LAUREN BROOKES
MARKETING MANAGER
Meet Lauren: Digital Marketing Maven & Master Waffler
Lauren’s journey began with Fashion Business & Retail at Nottingham College before she found her groove with a Digital Marketing Degree Apprenticeship at Aston University. With a love for iced vanilla lattes and starting the day with some puppy cuddles from her beloved dogs, Lilo & Stitch, Lauren’s mornings are always off to a sweet start.
When she's not sipping coffee, she’s slaying the digital world with her skills in PR, social media management, email marketing, SEO, and content marketing. Oh, and let’s not forget her talent for waffling—both the chatty and breakfast kind (we assume).
Outside of work, Lauren stays busy with her love for reading, hitting the gym, pilates, and long walks, where she probably waffles her way through life's big questions.
